At the very heart of the Aravis Mountains
A resort holding the TOTFA label, aka “Top of the French Alps” (awarding the most iconic French ski resorts), Le Grand-Bornand is a great village for skiing in the winter and a fantastic mountain destination in the summer. The pearl of the Aravis Mountains in Haute-Savoie, this authentic, cultural, artistic and athletic destination is located between Mont-Blanc, Lake Annecy and Switzerland.
Chinaillon, the location of the Hotel Les Cimes at an altitude of 1300 m, is the main departure point for the Alpine ski slopes. The 29 ski lifts allow skiers to enjoy all the slopes right to the top of Mont Lachat. The hotel is only 100 m from the pistes, allowing you to enjoy winter sports in the best possible conditions.
In summer, explore Chinaillon Valley along its winding roads, a favourite spot for amateur cyclists and the Tour de France competitors alike. Hikers will also find what they are looking for with the many trails that wind through the mountain pastures up to the peaks that surround the valley, such as Lachat, Maroly, Jalouvre and Roc des Tours.
If you love golf, you’ll love the Golf Le Rocher Blanc which offers a great course at the foot of the Aravis Mountains. There really is something for everyone in Le Grand-Bornand.
