HOTEL 100 M FROM THE SLOPES
Enjoy a winter wonderland in Le Grand-Bornand!
In Haute-Savoie at the heart of the Aravis Mountains between Annecy, Chamonix and Geneva, Le Grand-Bornand provides the charm of a traditional mountain village and the facilities of a top resort (it has been awarded the “Famille Plus” label). The hotel is located in the village of Chinaillon. At an altitude of 1300 m, this is the main departure point for the Alpine ski slopes, and the ski area of Le Grand-Bornand will be at your feet. From the pleasant undulation of the snow-covered slopes of the Col des Annes or the more challenging peaks of the Aravis or Mont Lachant, there’s plenty of fun to be had in the ski area.
Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, a lover of new sports or old favourites, Le Grand-Bornand has enough to please lovers of leisurely skiing as much as lovers of more extreme sports, with 84 km of Alpine slopes, including 16 green, 12 blue, 16 red and 4 black. Other key sites include the famous “Dénivel’Maxx” with its 3 km-long non-stop 1100 m-descent from the peak of Mont Lachat to the village of Le Grand-Bornand.
If you’re into freeriding, enjoy a great session at the Grand-Bo snow park, classed as one of France’s best. Located at the summit of Le Maroly (an area with the longest opening times in the whole area), the principle of the snowpark is simple – to make freestyle accessible to all.
If you love cross-country skiing, you won’t be disappointed either. In the Bouchet Valley and in the higher ends of Chinaillon near the old village, cross-country is king. Wild spruce forests dotted with snow-covered chalets, the cross-country skiing area stretches over 60 km of well-maintained pistes up to La Clusaz, which is home to the very challenging black piste of Les Frasses.
Other activities include ski touring, biathlon, snow-shoeing, sledging, skating, paragliding and skijoring.
